Lake Kayak Tour Full Day (5 to 6 hours)
Join Shurr Adventures for a full day Yellowstone Kayaking Eco-Tour. This is an excellent way to get away from the crowds with a small group on Yellowstone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. Kayak with the Shurr’s and learn about Yellowstone Lake, its surrounding wildlife, and the geological history that shaped the lake and its ecosystems. Yellowstone National Park is so large that it is impossible to see everything in one day. This full day tour will help give our guests a broader view of the lake area and the southern/central part of Yellowstone National Park. Halfway through the trip we will stop to sit on a beach, looking at the surrounding mountains as we enjoy appetizers and a great picnic lunch.
On Yellowstone Lake we will pass by and over the thermal features of the West Thumb Geyser and Potts Basins. This is an excellent way to see these natural wonders up close and personal, without having to trudge through a crowded boardwalk. These high altitude lakes are also a good water source for a variety of birds, elk, deer, bears, and much more. We will be on the lookout for these animals as we kayak! This is truly an unbeatable experience! Shurr Adventures’ trips are not scripted, this allows us to go where the wildlife is likely to be and to take the safest possible routes. Our group sizes are no more than 8 guests per guide (unlike 12 to 20 at all other companies). Check out our Hike/Kayak Combo if you want to add to your adventure.
Please remember that these kayak tours are on a cold, high altitude lake. The conditions can be calm and super clear on some days, or choppy and more adventurous on others. We highly recommend that people who do this trip exercise on a regular basis and have kayaked or canoed before. This trip meets at Grant Village Marina with reservations only.
***If you are only in Yellowstone National Park one day we think that the Half Day Kayak Tour is the best option, so after your trip you have time to explore more of the park***
